Ariel Gail
Professor Gail S. Goodman has been an accomplished psychologist since 1993 and Director of the Center for Public Policy Research, University of California Davis. She was widely credited as the pioneer of modern studies of eyewitnesses' memory, and also children's witnesses. Professor Goodman who is a prolific author with many research publications as well as numerous grants and is the recipient of numerous national and global distinctions. She has advised numerous authorities and government agencies around the world about policies and research relating to the treatment of child victims of the law by the system. She currently serves as advisor to the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center located at Sacramento County Child Protective Services (formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center). She is a fellow of many professional organizations including those of the Association for Psychological Science and the American Psychological Association (Divisions Experimental Psychology Developmental Psychology Society for the Psychological Study of Social Issues Society for Child and Family Policy and Practice American Psychology-Law Society Psychology of Women and Traumatic Stress 56). She was a founder member of the American Professional Society for the Abuse of Children, the Psychonomics Society Society for Research into Child Development as well as the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. Professor Goodman has served as president of The American Psychological Association's Developmental Division and three Divisions of the Child and Family Practice and Policy Division American Psychology Law Society and Division Developmental Psychology.
